Doctor Watson Bares All in Kabukicho Sherlock TV Anime Character PV - News

During an autopsy, Doctor John H. Watson examines a strange chip discovered on the body of a Ripper victim in the Kabukicho Sherlock TV anime.

Being the sidekick to the world's greatest detective can be a weird and embarrassing affair, or at least that's general idea in a new character preview for Dr. John H. Watson in Kabukicho Sherlock, an upcoming TV anime that re-imagines the characters from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic detective novels as a bunch of misfits hanging around the shady section of modern day Tokyo.

Set in modern day Kabukicho in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, Kabukicho Sherlock follows the comedic, mysterious, and dramatic adventures of a ragtag band of detectives as they live together in a tenement above Mrs. Hudson's bar in the red light district and attempt to solve an unusual string of killings known as the "Jack the Ripper Murders".

James Moriarty, Sherlock Holmes, and John Watson gather in a shady alleyway in the Kabukicho Sherlock TV anime.

Kabukicho Sherlock is directed by Ai Yoshimura and features animation production by Production I.G. The series will broadcast in Japan on Fridays during the 25:55 time slot (actually at 1:55am JST on Saturday morning) as part of the Mainichi Broadcasting System / Tokyo Broadcasting System "Animeism" programming block beginning on October 11, 2019.
