UNISON SQUARE GARDEN Performs Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia OP Song - News

The official website for Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, the upcoming TV anime adaptation of the seventh chapter of Delightworks' role-playing mobile game Fate/Grand Order, has announced that three member Japanese rock band UNISON SQUARE GARDEN's new song "Phantom Joke" will be feature as its OP theme song.

The band was formed in 2004, and this is the first time for them to provide a theme song for the Fate franchise. Their previous anime theme song works include: "Orion wo Nazoru" (TIGER&BUNNY OP), "Sakura no Ato" (all quartets lead to the?)" (Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta~ OP), "Sugar Song to Bitter Step" (Blood Blockade Battlefront ED), and "Haru ga Kite Bokura" (March Comes in Like a Lion OP).

The song's lyric writer/composer Tomoya Tabuchi (bass) says, "We had never thought the day we join the Fate brand would come. We tried to create a song that can colorize this anime's adventure tale properly, along with reaching the level of the Fate series that has lasted for a long time. As a result of challenging this difficult task, which would become disrespectful if we missed even 1 mm, we made a song about the future more than ever. Even if the phantom block us, let's love this world together."
